With over 37 year’s personal experience in the automotive field, Evan K. McMullen is an experienced appraiser and valuator of fine, rare, collector and investment automobiles.  As the founder and current Managing Member of Cosmopolitan Motors, LLC—a full-service Washington State dealership specializing in exotic, classic and collector cars–McMullen currently appraises, acquires and sells over $10,000,000 worth of vehicles per year and has personally bought, sold and appraised over one billion dollars in rolling stock during the course of his professional career.

Since the formation of Cosmopolitan Motors in 1988, McMullen has provided appraisals and collection management to major collectors, celebrities, insurers, lending institutions and local, state and national governments. Cosmopolitan Motors is widely recognized as an industry leader in a highly specialized and demanding niche; as owner and primary buyer/appraiser, Mr. McMullen travels extensively throughout Europe, Asia, North America and elsewhere to evaluate, appraise, judge, buy, sell and broker collections and collector cars of the highest quality.  He attends approximately 25 major world auctions a year, including: Retromobile (Paris), Barrett-Jackson (Scottsdale), Monaco, Pebble Beach, and others.

Mr. McMullen currently sits on the Advisory Boards of two major collector car pricing guides, The Gold Book and the National Auto Dealers Association (NADA) Collectors’ and Special Interest Guide.  In addition, McMullen is an occasional contributor to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Sports Car Market, Hearst Media Connecticut, The Open Road, and Northwest Motorist.

Prior to launching Cosmopolitan, McMullen’s diverse background included previous employment in the areas of sales, service, body and parts departments at multiple franchise dealers–including Oldsmobile, Cadillac, GMC, Alfa Romeo, BMW, Lotus, Subaru and Honda.

Today, his client list includes multi-national companies, banks, holding companies, insurance companies, notable collections and individuals and the U.S. Department of Justice and the Swedish and Thai governments.  He is experienced in international trade and markets and travels approximately 150,000 miles a year performing evaluations, acquisitions and dispositions of aircraft, boats and motor vehicles.  He currently performs approximately 100 independent (non-transaction) appraisals per year.

To date, his worldwide experience has resulted in having bought, sold and appraised over one billion dollars in rolling stock.  Private clients range from recognizable “dot com” software and telecommunications pioneers to sports and entertainment celebrities.

In addition to his automotive interests, Mr. McMullen is a founder, and past member of the Board of Directors of Asia Europe Americas Bank and an active Member in several fine arts acquisition and brokerage companies.
