1962 Austin Healey 3000 MkII BT7

$70,000.00

VIN: HBT7L/14281 (Car No.)

Odometer: 33,139 km

Engine: 2,912cc (2.9L) I6

Trans.: 4-spd Manual (w/electric overdrive)

The Austin-Healey 3000 was built from 1959 until 1967 and were dubbed as the "Big Healey" models. Jensen Motors produced the car's bodywork, and the vehicles were assembled alongside the MG line at British Motor Corporation's (BMC) MG Works in Abingdon.

Originally produced as an open sports car, the model transformed with a 2+2 option (albeit more child sized) and then into a sports convertible. The 3000 was a highly successful car, won many European rallies in its heyday, and is still raced in classic car competitions by enthusiasts today.

This beautiful BT7 model has been meticulously restored, and the bright, spectacular red paintwork captures the eye immediately. This vehicle comes with hardtop, convertible, and tonneau covers. It's almost like getting three cars in one. All of them are in fantastic condition and the car looks great in any configuration.

The all-new grey interior, with red piping, accents the exterior beautifully, and the new carpeting is precisely fitted and trimmed. The professionalism carries through to the trunk and engine compartment as well.

Opening the bonnet (hood) reveals a laboriously detailed engine bay and a very clean 2.9L motor. Note this was the only model year engine mounted with triple Solex side-draft carburetors. Continue looking inside the body crevasses and note the cleanliness and full paintwork in every location.

Driving this Austin-Healey 3000 brings on the real fun. Pull the choke a little, turn the key, push the start button, and the engine jumps to life without hesitation. A little warm-up and she's ready to roll. The clutch engages easily, the transmission shifts smoothly, and the overdrive engages without a notice.

This car is a turnkey investment and will make a new owner very happy. It might also make them the talk of the neighborhood.
