The "new" Alfa Romeo "Spider" succeeded the Giulia Spider in 1966 and remained in production until 1994. Originally named the "Duetto" through a write-in competition, that name was already registered, with exclusive rights, to a confectionary company in Italy. Losing the court case for the name, the company landed back on "Spider 1600." As time passed and engine displacement changed, the "1600" dropped off and "Spider" remained.

These cars were designed and assembled by the famous Italian coachbuilder, Pininfarina, and there were four "series" of model changes throughout the years. The third generation, "Series 3," was produced from 1982 through 1990. Changes to this model included upgrading the 2.0L engine to the Bosch electronic fuel injection system. Other notable revisions included black rubber bumpers, the grill being incorporated into the front bumper, and a rubber spoiler with integrated 3rd brake light.

This 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider is a "Series 3" model wearing a red exterior with a new black top and interior. It also wears the "Graduate" moniker in celebration of the Spider's appearance in the movie "The Graduate," a 1967 film starring Dustin Hoffman and Katharine Ross.

This Alfa Romeo Spider has been mechanically restored with a new top and interior. The vehicle is sound with solid floors and trunk area. Receipts show more than $10,000.00 in recent repairs over the past 20,000 miles including comprehensive brake work and much more. The car exhibits superbly and appears exceptionally well cared for. These wonderful cars are still a bargain and extremely fun to drive and enjoy.
